Blyth Sports Athletics Series
A new competition for some of our juniors to compete in over the winter months. Five of our younger juniors took part and did themselves proud with some excellent performances and they all had a lot of fun in the process.
Well done to Sadie Stewart, Isobel Cherry, Grace Pither, Oscar Burton and Noah Williamson. Throughout the three event series Isobel, Oscar and Noah all set age group records in various events.
In the Individual series Oscar took a very well deserved 1st place overall in the Year 3 boys competition and Noah finished in 2nd place in the same category.
In the Team competition our juniors finished in 4th place competing against teams with year 5, 6, 7 and 8 children in them.
Well done to all five hopefully we will have more juniors taking part next year.

Others that took part were Lucy Dews 14th, Emma McMahon 15th and Jessica
All our juniors athletes counted towards the Team score and for the first time ever Derwentside won the U13’s and U15’s CDAN Sports Hall Athletics Competition.
A huge well done to all the junior athletes on an excellent win.
Regional Sports Hall athletics final and Fun in Athletics Final
Unfortunately despite some great performances from the Derwentside Athletes, County Durham, the team in purple finished as runners up in all the team competitions. Derwentside juniors can be very proud of their efforts in this competition especially as we made up nearly a third of the entire Durham Team.
